This is my first year as a Physical Education teacher at my school. One of the big pushes is that we gather data on our students. The best way to gather meaningful data is to collect and compare their fitness scores. When we started to do fitness testing, we only kept paper records of the students scores. This means that there is only one set of scores. This can be a problem because the classes have PE twice a week and my partner and I split a few classes. Also, if the papers get lost or damaged, we lose the data. Currently, the three schools in the district do not share the information of their fitness scores with each other.
What I would like to design is a system to record the fitness testing scores so that they can be shared with the whole district. This way, when the student moves on to the next school, the teacher already has the scores of all the students. Using technology would solve issues of papers getting lost or damaged. During this class, I would like to find a suitable system, create a database, input the data and share it with the rest of my colleagues.
